STRAWBERRY PINEAPPLE JUICE

We’ve found a winner for this summer!
The blend of strawberries and pineapple is nothing short of delicious!

Pineapple is a fruit that goes very well with strawberries and this juice has the perfect balance of sweet and sour. It is very easy to make and includes only three ingredients.The few leaves of fresh mint give the juice a burst of cool flavour.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 whole pineapple
  • Small handful fresh mint (about 6-10 leaves)
  • 1 tbsp sugar ( optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Wash, hull and cut the strawberries in half.
  2. Carve the outer husk off the pineapple and prepare half of the pineapple for juicing. Chop the pineapple into wedges.wp-16149410786891472782730829466326.jpg
  3. Juice the strawberries, followed by the mint and then the pineapple.
  4. Mix well and serve chilled.

HOMEMADE HOT CHOCOLATE MIX

This super easy homemade hot chocolate mix is rich, and makes some of the best hot chocolate ever.

This homemade hot chocolate mix takes five minutes to prep, is easy to store, and makes a super-rich and decadent cup of hot chocolate. It’s easy to gift and simple enough for little chefs to make!

This recipe was perfect. Sweet but not overly sweet. The powdered sugar and the powdered milk really gave the hot cocoa a nice texture.

Make delicious mugs of hot chocolate at home with this homemade hot chocolate mix recipe. Made with real grated chocolate in the cocoa mix this is thick, creamy, delicious and an amazing treat!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup  Powdered sugar
  • 1/2  Cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Milk Powder
  • 1/4 cup  Grated dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • Spices (optional)
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon spice
  • ½ tsp Nutmeg fresh grate

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Combine ingredients in a mason jar. Shake until everything is well combined.wp-16090827474432975365984105492609.jpg
  2. To make a mug of hot chocolate :
  3. Add 3 tablespoons of the Hot Chocolate mix to milk or water into a saucepan and stir. Simmer on medium/low heat for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour into a mug and serve with chocolates.
  5. To make hot chocolate, add 1-2 tablespoons of homemade hot chocolate mix to hot water. Stir and enjoy!
  • NOTES:
  • This hot cocoa mix if stored properly in an airtight container can be used for about 6 months.
    To keep it longer I highly recommend not adding the milk powder to the mix.

GUAVA AND POMEGRANATE PUNCH /PERU AND ANAR KA DRINK

Combine the lusciousness of guava with the peppiness of pomegranate and you get a mouth-watering drink that will elate your senses.

Both fruits are known for their distinct flavours and their special touch can be felt in the juice.

A dash of black salt accentuates the flavours further, making the Guava and Pomegranate Drink a delightful treat that will leave its imprint on your taste buds! Serve this drink chilled.

With guava you can also make Guava Sorbet , Guava Punch , Guava Chutney and Peru Subzi .

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • 2 cups roughly chopped guava (peru)
  • 1 1/2 cups pomegranate (anar)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar (OPTIONAL)
  • 1/2 tsp black salt (sanchal)
  • salt to taste
  • Pomegranate for decoration

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Combine the guava, pomegranate and 1½ cups of water in a mixer and blend till smooth.

  3. Add the black salt and little salt and mix well.
  4. Serve chilled.

GOLDEN MILK / HALDI DOODH

Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory and healing properties makes this Golden Milk aka Haldi Doodh, an ideal drink to have when you are under the weather or just when you feel like having a comforting drink!

Since my version of golden milk is heavy on spices, here’s a list of spices that I have in my golden milk recipe:
✓ turmeric (of course!)
✓ green cardamom pods
✓ black peppercorns
✓ cinnamon stick
✓ fresh ginger

I love my haldi doodh with a lot of spices hence the long list. If you don’t want any spices, feel free to drink it just plain with milk and turmeric – just like I made for my husband. Simple milk + haldi only .

I hope you guys like my version of the humble haldi doodh. I always made this  drink it at bedtime, I guess it helped in getting a sound sleep too. Whether you drink it at bedtime or any other time of the day, it definitely makes up for a comforting drink.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 4 green cardamom pods slightly crushed
  • 1/2 inch ginger cut into thin slices
  • 5-6 whole black peppercorns
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener of choice sugar, maple syrup, honey, adjust to taste
  • cinnamon or cardamom powder to serve, optional

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Add milk to a pan on medium heat. After a minute or two (when the milk is little lukewarm) add turmeric powder to it.
  2. Then add crushed green cardamom pods, sliced ginger, black peppercorns and cinnamon stick.
  3. Add in the sweetener and whisk it all together and bring to a low simmer for 5 minutes. You don’t need to boil it but it should be nicely hot throughout. 
  4. Remove pan from heat, cover pan with a plate or lid and let it sit for another 5 minutes for the flavors to steep in. Strain the golden milk using a strainer into serving cups.
  5. You may sprinkle with cardamom or cinnamon powder before serving.

BEET POMEGRANATE JUICE

Delicious beet and pomegranate  juice which is great to increase hemoglobin level. This juice is refreshing too.This drink has lots of medicinal benefits in them. Enjoy this regularly atleast once or twice a week. It is very healthy.
The beetroot and pomegranate adds a great dose of antioxidants and nutrients, and lemon juice adds vitamin C and a good does of tangy flavour.
This beetroot pomegranate juice is an antioxidant packed juice and the dark redness is really recharging your body and energising you. Beetroots as you know, are one of my favourite vegetables and I use it in almost everything. It has great health benefits. It can reduce your blood pressure levels almost immediately. This is due to the presence of natural nitrates in beets which helps in improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure. It is also great to improve your stamina, energy and endurance again due to the presence of nitrates, making the juice recipe perfect before an exercise routine or work out. If you are keen on adding beetroot into your diet then try my other beetroot based recipes like this

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 nos – Beetroot
  • 1/4 cup – Pomegranate 
  • 1 no – Lemon, medium sized
  • Sugar to taste
  • Black salt as per taste 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. To start making the beetroot pomegranate lemonade, peel the beetroot and chop them into small cubes and put them in a blender jar.
  2. Add pomegranate seeds to it and squeeze the lemon juice and sugar to it.
  3. Blend it till smooth. Add 2 cups of water and churn ones more.
  4. Strain the juice and serve it chilled

CUCUMBER BASIL LEMONADE

I’m obsessed with fancy lemonade — the kind with fresh ingredients and bright flavors that cools you off and looks good in your glass. It’s the perfect refreshment to enjoy while you kick back and enjoy a shady spot in hot and humid weather.

I am sharing with you, cucumber basil lemonade, It is so cooling and is so so so refreshing. A super simple drink to make yourself feel refreshed and your beverage glass pretty(haha).

I used my home grown basil in this lemonade.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 – English Cucumbers
  • 5 to 6 – Basil leaves
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Sugar or Honey to taste
  • Black salt as per taste 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Peel the Cucumber and chop off the ends.
  2. Chop them into cubes and put them in a blender
  3. Add ice cubes, lemon juice, basil leaves and sugar or honey.
  4. Add 2 cups of water and blend it till cucumber is blend completely.
  5. Strain the lemonade to remove any fibrous particles in it.
  6. Serve it chilled and Enjoy!
